Library Cards

Library card info: Brazil City/Township residents prepay via taxes; non-residents pay $35/6 months or $70/year.
Guidelines for residency verification: ID with address, recent lease, utility bill, pay stub, or property deed/tax bill if address varies.

Everyone pays for a library card in one of two ways- in advance through your property taxes or at the Brazil Public Library when you fill out your library card application as a non-resident.If you own property or reside within city limits of Brazil City or in Brazil Township your card is paid for through your property taxes- even if you rent. This is what we call a resident card.

There is no extra charge for those that are within the Brazil City and Brazil Township because their membership is paid for by their property taxes.

For all other persons, the charge for a Non-Resident card shall be as follows:

1.        $70.00 per individual per year or

2.        $35.00 per individual per 6 months
