Wireless Access
As part of the Brazil Public Library (BPL) system, wireless internet access is available at all library locations for use on personal devices as well as library-owned wireless equipment. The library also offers mobile hotspots for checkout to registered users who do not have broadband access at home. All rules, regulations, and principles outlined in this policy apply to the use of the wireless network and related services.
BPL does not guarantee compatibility between its wireless network and customer-owned devices, nor does it guarantee the reliability or security of any network or internet connection. Information transmitted over public wireless networks may be subject to interception and should not be considered secure. Users are encouraged to maintain current antivirus software, personal firewalls, and other security protections to safeguard their devices.
The library assumes no responsibility for the security of customer devices, configurations, or data, and is not liable for any damage to hardware, software, or data that may result from use of the library’s wireless network or mobile hotspot services.
